Abby Albright Venture Fellow AR/VR
Abby Albright is focused on driving adoption within the VR/AR ecosystem through roles as a business development and product management executive, startup advisor and industry consultant with deep hands-on experience. She is a driving force in accelerating growth throughout a nascent industry.
She is currently a Venture Fellow focused on AR/VR investments at Mucker Capital in Los Angeles. She’s also a Co-Founder of Women in XR, which is a coalition of industry players – venture, corporate, media and startup partners – dedicated to elevating women founders in AR/VR through direct funding and education.
Previously, Abby focused on business development and strategic partnerships for three years at Daqri, a leading augmented reality software and hardware technology company. At Daqri, Abby initiated strategic partnerships with Autodesk, Dell, EPRI, OSIsoft and Verizon, and closed the first and most pivotal industrial enterprise deal for Daqri. Additionally, she assisted product teams with their strategy, roadmap, and product marketing within the company, while simultaneously helping a multitude of companies develop their expansion strategies. She also helped create a new AR division within Parker Hannifin, a multibillion dollar organization. Clients were worldwide and spanned across media, entertainment and enterprise.
Abby has been an active advisor to several AR/VR startups including Entrypoint, a webVR technology platform funded by Two Sigma Ventures and SamsungNext. She also advised SilVRscreen, helping them to secure funding from Oculus for original VR content creation.
Abby is an accomplished thought leader in the AR/VR startup ecosystem and has been guiding various investment forums and competitions, such as being a judge for Women Startup Challenge (VR/AR/AI), and Virtuleap (WebVR), and speaking at industry events such as Augmented World Expo (AWE).
Prior to Daqri, she did business development at Mass Relevance, an enterprise social media marketing software platform that paved the way for interactive, real-time conversations across broadcast and the web through unique partnerships with Twitter and Facebook. She helped grow the media/entertainment and gaming sectors. Mass Relevance was acquired by Spredfast in 2014.
Abby has also spent time in the entertainment industry, producing and developing several film and television projects and has a BA from UC Berkeley.
